We found a 75 gallon tank and stand but I was wondering what the deal is with acrylic tanks. Is it bad or ok or good? Is glass better? Sorry I am very new to the scene. Thanks in advance.[/b]

There are good and bad things with acrylic and with glass...it's just a matter of opinion. With acrylic you don't have any seems, so no leaks. But acrylic is also easier to scratch. Go with what you like and that fits your budget.

I had a 20 gall acrylic tropical setup about 8 years ago. I scratched the front of the tank when adding gravel and it looked horrible (the scratch kept getting algae inside it and was a pain to clean)

All my other tanks have been glass which I personally prefer. Just be careful when adding rock etc. if you decide to go with the acrylic.
