Two Filter Questions ?

First how long to filters last . I have a 2 year old Rena and it is acting up and I don't know why, first it unprimed it self than it started leaking from the top some where .

Next how is a Marineland filter just in case my Rena is a gone .

I have had filters last for over 5 years, some are better build quality than others. And depending on the type of filter some are built so that parts can be replaced.

What size of tank are you going to be filtering? Start with that and then start looking at all the different options avail.

Does the top of your filter now show cracks or is it a seal that is worn out? Inspect it very well and see if you can find what is wrong with it.
