You need more plants. 70% of the ground should be covered. Go buy more. The plant on the right is a banana plant. Pitch the aquaclear and buy an ehiem canister 2213. [acronym:b35cdd700d="Hang On Back"]HOB[/acronym:b35cdd700d] filters lower co2.

It looks like you don't have a good gravel and this is needed. Go buy eco-complete or flora base or something besides plain gravel. What lighting do you have I would say a 60-150 watt light is needed.

Do you fertilize? Co2?

Learn about the nitrate to phosphate ratio 1ppm-10ppm nitrate is safe but even 1-20 will keep the bas algeas away.(so will more plants) You will need a good phosphate fert, a good nitrate fert, a good trace fert, and a good iron fert.My arm is broke so type sucks. If you really want help with your tank then PM me

umm.. I like lots of plants too, but just because you have live plants doesn't mean you HAVE to have that many. I plan on getting more for my tank, but i don't want mine planted that dense, . Your tank is beautiful, tiptoptank, but what you like isn't the look everyone is going for. just because you have so many plants in yours, doesn't mean everyone prefers it that way
Anyway, zilla, i like your tank, as i myself am working on getting my tank planted, i have less than you! But im buying them slowly, a few at a time. I ordered some online too fro this website: http://www.freshwateraquariumplants.com/
and they were really nice. I also got some from my [acronym:75cb73e98e="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:75cb73e98e].
I really like your driftwood and the pile of large rocks, it really adds a unique look to your tank! There is also a really good [acronym:75cb73e98e="Carbon dioxide"]CO2[/acronym:75cb73e98e] article:
http://www.aquariumadvice.com/showqu...q=2&fldAuto=41
i haven't got a [acronym:75cb73e98e="Carbon dioxide"]CO2[/acronym:75cb73e98e] system yet, im still shopping around because i bought high lights (more than 2wpg) and i think i may need it for my plants to really flourish, but right now they are doing ok.
