Cycle is done Dude!

New tank cycle finally finished last week and I was able to get some livestock so I thought I would share.

Thanks -- there is actually two but they were a bit camera shy! And there is an African dwarf frog that just likes to hide a bit!

Lost the Dwarf Frog. Not sure why he was eating and I immediately did a water check and everything was fine.

Did a 50% PWC anyway -- the Gouramis were not happy, that is until I pulled out the food then they were fine.

By the way just a word of advice --- if your going to combine a gravel vac and PWC on a 10 gal you better have a plan 'cause the water level drops quick!

I always used the smaller vac for the smaller tanks. They make one that is only about 1/2-3/4 inch in diameter.

Found two hitchhikers last night. Two Malaysian snails -- must of snuck in on the plants and held tight when I rinsed them off.

Correction -- make that pond snails!

Uh oh! If they are pond snails, you will have a ton in no time, they breed fast.

Yeah I know -- on the bright side I did see one of the ghost shrimp eating one of the snails! who knew!
