Oh yes Melissa...you NEED a Malawi tank...these guys are gorgeous!

I hear a case of MTS coming on.....gee, thanks Kristin!
You are welcome...hey I have MTS so I might as well let it rub off on people. ;) Now you need to go measure out a spot for another 55g! Come on, you have room. :)

Actually, I do. Since hubby moved out I have all kinds of room, but is there room in my wallet? I might start a MTS Fishtank savings account for just such an occasion. ;)

There ya go! I will be setting up a 38g high tech planted sometime after Christmas...so I've got to start saving. I have a problem with not being able to save money! So start ya up a saving's account and then you can have a beautiful Malawi tank! You could save up a lot and get a 125g...you could have more fish in that size tank...hint hint. ;)

That's really beautiful... I love the patina on the rockwork and the algae background really does look nice!

Updates:

The algae isn't so noticeable on the back anymore. It looks better than the last picture I posted. :) I do like it though...its looks really natural.

I'm planning on redoing the rockwork soon, so I'll have more pictures then. :)

Haha....I'm not really sure. I just hold the camera there until they slow down, then I take the picture really fast. ;) Its hard to get good pictures and takes alot of tries and time to wait for a good picture. They are constantly on the go, but every now and then they slow down.

lol, when i take pics of fish, only one in 50 turn out good.

Kristin, the tank looks stunning!! I love how natural it looks with the plants, and the rock... the rock has gotten that nice natural look with a little algea, i love it. The fish are awsome too. Great job. But, dont you think it is about time for some more pics?

Yeah, then my girlfriend gets mad that I took 50 pictures of my fish and maybe one of her during the process. I'll turn around and take a picture of her rolling her eyes. Then I'll turn back around and say, "Aww, you made me miss that photo opp!"

I do! :) I will try to take some this weekend and post them, since those pictures were not so recent.

Haha! Thats funny. I have alot of fish pictures on my camera to. I end up deleting so many of them and it makes me mad sometimes, but usually I have a few good ones.

Its about time I updated again. :)

Whole tank:

the green algae turned to a lovely red algae :D

The rockwork is slightly different...not as high as it was. I gave some fish to a friend, so had to take all the rocks out to catch them. Also, most of the plants have come out. The Vals just didn't do well at all in the tank (possibly because of high pH and no ferts). There are a few small ones left and I put a couple Java ferns in the tank, but they are just barely hanging on. The onion plant needs to come out as well...just haven't done that yet.

And now for the fish (random pictures trying out my dad's new camera with flash):

No one has responded to this thread since March. Were you bored yesterday or something???? Answering 500 threads with the same answer........

Thanks!

I actually only have the Socolofi now. I'm in the process of turning the tank into a Tanganyikan tank instead of the Mbuna. The Mbuna are beautiful but they are very aggressive and weren't working for me.

Look for pictures when I start getting my Tang. fish. :D
