Oh yes.. life. Ahhhh. I've also taken two more tanks down since the last update. I now have (set up) 150, 40b, 29, 20l, 10. I'm going to be updating with some pics soon, as I plan on doing a complete rescape on the 20 long. The 29 is so full of hair algae, i can barely see the tips of the giant hairgrass. It's bad.

Indeed life. I always have to wonder about time when I see a thread like this one. I also run a lot of aquariums (15 at current count; 4 100gal, 4 30gal, 1 29gal high (salt), 2 15gal longs, 1 20gal long (salt), 1 20gal high (salt), 1 20gal long Turtle tank (the bog), and my personal 65gal reef. But I have 2 classes of students who help do the maintanence and help take care of them. I can't imagine finding the time to try and do it all yourself, especially if you have a family. Five tanks sounds much more manageable to me.

I think 5 is going to work out better in the long run. I also wanted the basement for something else, besides having a maze of tanks. I might venture in to a reef at some point, though I doubt it will be any time soon.

Reefs are nice, but like the fully planted tanks, they take a lot of time. Well worth it if you have the time and $ to put into the venture IMO.

Here are some pics. Nothing special. Just rescaped the 20 long. Turning the tables and trying low light. At least, it's low compared to the T5HO's that were on it. Just an $8 walmart shop light, and a lot of cloudiness. Going to add some more plants to it was well, I'm thinking I might pull some of the rotala rotundifolia for the back left and call it done.

And the 40 breeder in it's worst shape ever

And the 150 in pretty bad shape as well

They don't look that bad. Look very neat and well-kept IMO, I haven't trimmed in two weeks and there's already stuff all over the place. It looks good! (y)
