I have several female swordtails and a male.
I moved the male to another tank a month ago leaving only females.
I just found new baby swordtails.
Can they hold babies that long before delivery if the sword got her pregers a month ago?

As Jetajockey said they can have multiple pregnancies from one batch of sperm. It's not unusual to have two or three drops. Also swordtails are notoriously late developers in some cases and males can appear female for upto a year, gravid spot and all. This is why sometimes people think females can change gender like some marine fish do!
