breeding apistogramma

i got a 10 gallon aquarium and id like to breed a species of apristograma,
i don't know what species to breed though, i want something pretty, i can leave the parents with the babies or move the parents to a 30 gallon community tank, and a easier species to breed.
any other tips?

Apistogramma are pretty easy to breed. They do prefer soft water, but are fine in the neutral area as well. Cacatoides are a good beginner apisto and readily breed if well conditioned. The fry are quite small so having bbs or microworms on hand can help.
