My platy finally had her fry! I have them in a 1.5 gallon tank with a heater and a little whisper filter which is currently not running because I'm scared the fry will get sucked in and killed. I have ordered pre-filter sponges but they wont arrive for a few days, maybe up to a week. I'm wondering, will the fry be okay without a filter until then if I do daily water changes? I have an air stone I could but in the tank but the flow is really strong and I don't have a splitter. Should I just do the old pantyho on the filter intake trick? Or will they be okay with the filter off? Uhg I'm stressing out! Help please and thank you!

i would leave it off it will suck up the fries. you can use the pantyhose, but a 1.5 gallon is to small. if possible, get a 10 gallon tank with a sponge filter that is driven by an aquarium air pump.
