I am going to change my FOWLR tank to a reef tank, and would like to get some suggestion on what fishes is good to keep.

I m thinking about clowns and one of the fish I saw in my LFS, which I forgot the name.it looks like this unknown fish.jpg lol sry for the back drawing.

would like to get some names from your guys
fishes or livestocks that u like the most.

Thanksss^^

Uhm.. looks like a foxface or some kind of butterfly fish. Still looks a little like a duck tho.. lol.

Actually, i would agree with the cardinals. Thoms been trying to spread them onto people lol, and i totally agree. Those fish are awesome. And if i had room i would get them. But definitely go for a blenny or goby. Those things are sweeeet.

Wow! Good catch there melosu haha. I forgot about the hawkfish. I think thats what it is too.

oh yes its the hawkfish XDDDD
sry I drew like a duck LOL

r hawkfishes safe for reef?

I m looking to get pink spotted goby and tiger pistol shrimp as well
oh will pistol do well with cleaner shrimp?

do clowns eat snails or ghost shrimps LOL?
if they don't eat them, there is no reason for me to breed them anymore XD

Being that they are carnivores LA says they are reef safe with caution. It will be hit or miss.

It says With Caution for the hawkfish.. for reefs. So i would say no.. if you want to sleep peacefully at night.

as least they r safer than my puffers XD
they won't eat clowns...right OoO??
thats what I m thinking to get right now

2~3clowns
1 goby
1 pistol shrimp
1 cleaner
couple feather duster
green start polyps
possibles 1 or 2 of the hawkfish
will that be too much OoO?
and what kind of anemones should I get for the clowns?

I would say skip the anemones for now. It's not even guaranteed that the clowns will host the anemones. It's another hit or miss. Also, the nems require a very mature tank with the least amount of water fluctuations possible. I would say leave the nems alone until your tank is at least 8 months mature. And since its a hit or miss.. any nems will do. the GSP's are good coral to start with.. but beware that they are the weeds of the ocean. They grow rapidly on anything they can grab on to.. and are very hardy.

thats why i love the GSP XDDD (green spotted puffer? LOL~jkjk)

hmm so if they grow too fast?
anything I can do?

Oh.. hmm.. were you talking about green spotted puffers? or green star polyps?? heh, my bad if you were talking about the puffers. As for the coral.. you can just frag them.. or cut them in half or something. Just trim them down basically. Or just get another coral to sting them to death for you.. xD

The green star polyps are awesome. I'm loving them. All I did to frag them was cut anything hanging off it, and toss it in the 10, they've already started growing on the rocks.

It's pretty impressive how fast they grow. :D

haha I m talking about green star polyps, but ppl call green spotted puffers GPS as well, so I m just joking around XP

what about if they r growing on rocks, do I just cut them(kill them)?
LOL I don't wanna corals war in my tank haha

I m looking atYellow Button Polyps as well.

The yellow button polyps are cool as well. Well, the GSP's grow with a sortof mat thing attached to them. Its purple and its connected to everything that the polyps are connected to. If you just slice through the purple part and separate it, then it will start to regrow wherever you put it. Or.. die if you want to just kill in and throw it away.. but i dont know why you would want to do that. You could just frag it and give it to your LFS or someone else you know with a SW tank or something. Idk.. but the choice is yours. I love the GSP's personally, but just be aware that they do grow pretty darn fast.. and everywhere they can grab on to.

excited XDDDD
maybe I can sell GPS one day LOL

It sure wouldn't be that hard xD They grow very quickly and are extremely hardy coral.

could not have said it any better. Wait at least a year. The clowns dont have to have one and there is no guarantee.
