When I order up my co2 setup I was thinking of getting this as well...would a multi-nutrient fert be the way to go?

I would not suggest using that product. Elevated levels of iron are what caused my algae issues in my tank. I used that stuff and when I stopped and increased my CO2 things improved. Just letting you know what happened in my tank.

I use the following in my 10g:

Flourish Excel
FlorinGro (Nitrogen srouce)
Florin-K (potassium)

Until I started dosing the PPS Pro method on the 54g I was using the above in it as well.

I have no problem with dosing once/twice a day if I need to. etc etc.

Well im back home now. When i got home I had a bit of a mess. 5 gal filter was clogged up and was barely filtering, pre filter was completely clogged up with crap. ALL of its inhabitants - 3 tiger barbs and 1 oto alive and well!

55 gal...

co2 system done and not working, no surprise there.
Canister filter was diiiirty and flow was very bad. I made a prefilter sock for the intake... that god completely mudded up. Took off now... debating if i should get a replacement of no..

4 oto - 1 I can tell was dead - found decomped body.
1 alive and well
2 i cannot find, assuming dead.

Plants... crazy growth.

Amazon sword had runners growing and was sprouting off other plants AND root systems.

One plant i dunno what its name is on both sides is grown to top of tank and bending over.

Onion... insane growth lol

grr... totally didnt think of this, but im sure that my new additions aren't happy/going to be alive. I hope they acclimate to the ph changes. Im 100% sure that my 55gal being a low ph from the ph they had in the store has shocked them quite alot.

Had to move one to the 5 gal where it recovered and started to swim and stay upright...Others seem to be ok but didnt swim around much and are riding the current on the top. Guess I'll find out when I get home - or gf finds them dead

OH it cost 19.68$ to fill the 10lb tank at linweld welding supply in omaha,ne.

well 5 or so hours later, all but that one fish is doing well. I ponder if it got injured when it was retrieved from the store tank. Hope lil guy makes it... it's got great coloring.

CO2 system is all setup minus controller setup.

Nice looks good. Are the tiger barb's aggressive? I have heard they are and are not good in a community tank cause they will fight and nibble on all the other fish.
Also is the ph controller you're using the Milwaukee sms 122?

this is a barb only tank... my 55gal. At the moment there are only the 9 tiger barbs and one oto in it... they are schooling all over the tank. Its pretty awesome sight.

Yeah thats the controller i have. Up a few posts listed the CO2 kit i got.
