If this is a fish-in cycle though, DON'T by any means add ammonia! The fish's waste should give you enough and adding more could kill them. Sorry if I'm confused but I think your other thread said you had fish in it...

my 10 does my 29 wont this thread is regarding my 29 the other for my 10 also should i do water changes everyday since idk the nitrites

For your 10, yeah, you should do water changes daily until you're sure it's fully cycled.

ok thank you! last thing are there any signs your done or should i just wait about 3 weeks and the take it to petco to get the water checked

The signs you are done is 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, an a showing of nitrates. If you can't check it yourself, then yep, wait a few weeks, continue with your pwc, and then have your LFS check it for you!

thanks! so back to the 29 gallon update supposed to have the stand ready by monday so ill start cycling monday! excited

update; i bought a filter the tetra 30-60 it was beteen this one and the aqua tech 30-60 i pic,ked this on even though it was more expensive bc my aqua tech 5-15 broke within the second day (nothing against aqua tech they sent me a new propeller in a couple days but it still didnt work but my 10-20 works great). does anybody else have tetra and was this a good choice?

i've been running a couple tetra whisper 10-30's (internal filters) for like a year with success. i like them

I run a Tetra Whisper. They aren't too bad, although AquaClear is better. But Tetra is the best you can get at WalMart.

this isnt a tetra whisper though..... i hope it's not gonna be loud would it be ok to test for about a minute on my 10gallon?

Yeah, definitely. I'd say 25-50% a day until you're sure they're at zero.
