Hi Everyone,
I posted my introductory post this morning, but then lost internet, so I couldn’t post my question.
So I got a 10 gallon fish tank given to me on Apr. 9th. My family talked me into putting fish in it the next day. I know I shouldn’t have done it, and I’m paying the price now.
I have one female black molly, and 4 zebra danios, and one apple snail.
Yesterday morning, when I got up the molly had white fuzz all over her eyes and mouth. I put in a Fungus Clear Tank Buddies tab last night when my husband got home with them, about 8pm.
So here are my questions:
The molly is not eating. I don’t think she can see the food. Will she starve before the fungus goes away?
The tabs and jungle website say to take out the carbon, but they don’t say for how long. It does say I can do another dose in four days. Should I leave out the carbon that long? It seems too long to me. Should I put the filter back in tonight and then take it out again if another dose is required?
Should I take out the decorations and clean them? There seems to be gunk hanging on the plastic plants.
I took out the apple snail until treatment is done, but noticed he has white fuzz on his shell. If I brush it off with a toothbrush, will that really get rid of it? Should I keep him separated forever just to be safe?
I don’t have a water testing kit yet, or a gravel filter. I was totally unprepared for this ( But I do love my little molly and want to save her. I am buying a water tester asap, hopefully this weekend. Are there any chemicals I should buy while I’m at it that can fix potential water problems?
Thanks for all the help anyone can provide!
