Small angelfish. People keep telling me i need a huge tank but i dont think i do yet. He wont grow much more

He would grow more if you provided a larger tank, with that I wouldn't add anything else until you get him a bigger tank.

Yes, but you shouldn't get any until that angel has a bigger tank or is rehomed

In my opinion I think it would be ok for you to get a couple of dwarf Corey cats since they're bottom dwellers but you should get a bigger tank for your Angel sometime in the near future if you can.

Btw I have a betta in a 10 gallon with two albino Corey cats that are only about 2 inches and shouldn't get over 3, but your Angel will grow more than my betta, he's about 1 year old and hasn't grown a whole lot :)

Also forgot to mention my coreys do a wonderful job of keeping bottom of tank and gravel spotless, hope this helps :)

Before you add ANYTHING to that tank, REHOME that angel. Yes it is small and cute now, but when it gets bigger it will need a big home. If you want to keep other fish with it I would HIGHLY suggest a 28 gallon minimum or larger. This fish gets almost a foot tall and six inches in length, which is really cramped in ten gallons.

To give you an idea of what it will look like in a year or two, here is a pic when compared to tetras like neons and bleeding hearts:

Bruinsbro, the angel has been in there for a long time, sadly. I mentioned the cories because it seems as if there is no hope for just one angel in there. He says that he's getting a 30 gallon by december so I thought that this would be the best option... Thought I'd just clear that up so I don't get beat up for this.

Here are some quotes from the other thread: Are you sure? Bec i dont think hes average. He lived with his former owner for almost a year with scissor tails and even neons and rummynoses! I dont want to believe you but i bet your right!! Hahah

And: Ok and if i had a angel fish and dwarf how many cory should i get? And wont the angel fish grow according to the space it has? I get the angel fish from a friend who had to give away all of his fish and he had a 10 gallon. I think its as big as it will get but im not sure. Couldnt endlers be eaten by an angel?

It will be by december. Its so small now that its growth wont be stunted in a matter of 4 months. Jeez

If it's over a year old it's probably already stunted.

Stocking plans are generally made with the long-term in mind, that's why no one is really giving many suggestions. When you've got a fish that is incompatible with it's current tank then it is hard for people to suggest adding anything else until the situation is resolved.
