Racine, Wi formerly from Chicago. The LFS back home in Chicago that I used to buy from closed up. Its a shame they were a good store to deal with.

I'm on the north side of Racine. I just got my tank set up and the few fish I do have in it I bought from Petco on 11. I will check them out today for you and give you my thoughts. The last time I was in there was 7-8 years ago and they seemed more focused on furry animals.

So you can go to a place too it's right off of college it's like happy land or happy pets that place is cool and cheap and also have a heart has a % off depending on packers score. Right now it's 27% off.

Thanks for the info. In Kenosha not sure if its still there there is a place on 75th st by the Pick n Save. Are they still open? Would they be worth checking out?

There is its called Jim's aquarium also petsmart by the target and also Petco. The guy , rob, at Petco is actually very knowledgeable and they have adoption fish at the Petco in Kenosha.

Bristl, WI here. About 10 miles W of Kenosha! Always looking for options to Walmart, petco, and petsmart. Petland down in Round Lake is not bad. The people are very helpful and everything is well kept. The sales are a little high pressure for me though. I'll have to check out some of these Kenosha and racine spots!

Savage- In Kenosha on hwy 50/ 75th st just past hwy31 by golden coral buffet is a place called Jim's that I have been wanting to check out. In Racine we have the usual chains. There is a place on Douglas ave in Racine that I would like to check out but once again I don't know much about them.

Thanks. I will check out jim's for sure and let you know what I think. I've got some time while I tackle my 55g reseal project that I hope I'm patient enough for!

Jim's is good but over priced by alot. Have a heart in Racine is good they have 35% off their fresh water right now. I picked up the same fish that another place had for $80 for $21 at have a heart. I also found a couple stores in Milwaukee one is called happy land and there's hoffers and aquarium adventure too in Milwaukee. I over heard too that's there's some sort of new fish store out by where target is but I haven't been able to find it so if anyone knows let me know.

In Milwaukee there is Best Fish on Martin Luther King or Old World Third a bit north of Mckinnley. I haven't bought any fish from there. But their prices seem ok and the fish seem healthy and the tanks clean.
Keep us updated on the reseal job you are doing on that 55 gallon. I don't know why but resealing a tank interests me.

HA! I'm not really sure why I'm so pumped about it either. Going to start scraping and cleaning tomorrow night. I will keep posting. Thanks for the info guys.

I went to Jim's today. Pretty crazy place. It's in a basement and real cramped. Almost to the point of being messy. Doesn't matter though. Their stock looked healthy, and I didn't see a dead fish in ANY of the tanks (and there were a lot). I picked up a piece of mopani driftwood and four bundles of java moss. It was expensive, but I at least got the sense they knew what they were doing. The driftwood was almost twice the price of online, but I didn't have to ship it.

I almost had to threaten divorce to get my wife and kids out of there. All in all I'd give it a thumbs up.

Born and raised in Chippewa Falls, but lived on Clairmont street for a year. And on Barstow downtown for a year!
