Then go with the AC or c series, while the aqueon quiet flows are good filters, the other two are much better

Aqueon, AquaClear or Fluval are the HOBs I would recommend; the Aqueon you cited would be fine for your needs, honestly...

How low do you keep your water level in the tank? The Aqueon is more than likely "shooting bubbles" as you put it because the return flow is dropping so aggressively due to a presumably low water level, it's causing extra "splashing" into the tank. I keep my water level high enough so that there is just a nice "rift" and ripple being shot across the surface of the water from my QuietFlow 55, and never had a problem with "excessive bubbles" doing it this way.

As for the debris problem, something else must be wrong with your filter -- whenever I take out the cartridges of my 55 to rinse and dunk them in removed tank water, there is always excess debris that comes off them...

I've tried being water level up super high and leaving it low. It does a great job of sucking up my plants though!

And even when the level is up "super high" -- like all the way to the rim of the tank I'm assuming? -- the filter still pushes a lot of bubbles into the water?

Yes, I picked the aqueous I haven't gotten the tank yet, I barely have 42 dollars, and I need 151 for everithing except the fish!, so I need to wait a while

Piecing it out is the way to go though, Just for fun I priced out everything on petco.com you would need to set up a 20g tank using an AC filter, aqueon pro heater, delux hood/light combo, a net, prime, food - grand total $140, free shipping and tax free. this didnt include the tank but last time i was at petsmart the were $34. A combo kit would probably cost about the same but the equipment you personally pick out is usually a lot better and in the long run you shouldnt feel the need to replace anything and probably will be a lot happier with your tank.
