Just wondering... What would be the minimum number of gallons PER fantail goldfish in a tank?
20 gallons should be fine for one fancy
Its not recommended it might be ok for a little bit but i think goldfish enjoy company and there is always a chance of stunting its growth which of course is not good for them
The smallest are i believe lionheads, pearscales tend to stay small as well orandas and black moors tend to grow quite large so id stay away from them and of course Commons comets and shubunkins
So you think if you had 60 gallons, you could only have three?
Okay. Any chance you could put a smaller goldfish in a 10 gallon?

Orandas and moors do grow quite large but dont assume that lionheads or pearls will stay 'small'. They are less active than other goldies due to their body shape but all goldfish have the potential to grow big- these guys will make up for length with girth. My local AGA breeder has pearls that are the size of a big grapefruit minus the fins. There really isnt such a thing as a 'small' goldfish.
Post the tank measurements (LWH) and we can help you figure out the gallon capacity.
Ok here is a picture of the tank (I think one of my younger siblings was using it for a toad which is why it's full of dirt ) these are the measurements:
L - 24"
W - 12"
H - 16"
That's a 20 gallon high tank. One fish.
