Me have asked this already sorry if it did. Came up in conservation with the wife tonight. How long can I have the moonlights on? Tank is in the bedroom and she's afraid of the dark and actually likes the moonlights on. I have them turned off at 1am. Realistically how long can they be on with out interfering with the plants?

That's an interesting question and I'd like to know what the consensus is. I suppose if the moonlights are giving off a wavelength the plants cannot "see" then any additional time with them on won't negatively affect them.

Yeah the wife likes them on because she's afraid of the dark plus likes the look. So I was just curious. I did get an answer for my lights though. I spoke with the company and they said it would not harm anything to run the moonlights all might with the wattage of my led moonlights and the size/depth of the tank.

Yeah it won't harm them - though from what I've heard it can be beneficial to have at least a short period of total darkness for the plants, since they do their growing in the dark.

Very nice! Are the ones a few pages back your most recent pics? I was into the shrimp too. I will have to hunt up my pics from when I did planted. I kind of got planted-tankeritis for awhile. They were everywhere!

Your tank doesn t even look real! It s just so nice ! Jealous, jealous, jealous of the Lotus. Both of mine melted like the Wizard of Oz witch :(.

Question:

My African tank is calmer at night. How come the planted tank seems to come alive when the lights go out??

My guess would be that you keep different kinds of fish in either tank, so their temperaments are different. :)

Mine is the same way, a lot of tetras don't prefer bright light as they usually originate from black water conditions... Kinda sucks that my neons all huddle up and hide while the lights are on... :(

Oh yeah!! Mine do the same thing!!! I'm not alone lol. They all huddle up and when lights out the tank is like a show!!

Yeah, it really bothered me so I did some googling a while ago... I don't blame them though, the LEDs freakin blind me, so I can only imagine what it's like to them. My otos scatter when the lights come on, I feel so bad I can hear them running in to the glass... :(

My cories are all over the place. It's giving me a panic attack lol. Up down Up down all around like 6 of them just swimming the tank lol.
