Like I said in another thread I made, I had just recently acquired 3 bamboo shrimp.

Earlier today when I went to feed the tank I noticed a nice molt laying on the gravel. But when I went to check out the actual shrimp itself I noticed something wrong

It looks as if his new shell split open during the molt. He dosnt seem to be dying, but at the same time he is not filter feeding. He is currently just sitting on the wall of the tank with his fans completely closed.

Is this a fatal injury? Will it heal over itself? Or does something need to be done on my part to help him?

If your parameters are good, and you can get him to eat then it should clear up with the next molt.
What's the tank size? Do you supplement with powdered food?

Ah, good to hear. I was hoping it would clear with his next molt but that will be several weeks from now, perhaps months. I wasnt sure if he would be ok like this for that long or not

The tank is 29g, parameters are good

I dont have any powdered food, but i do crush up Hikari algae wafers for them

My bamboo shrimp are always out! They my not always be moving around, but usually always in sight at least.

And it seems like he's got his fans out today, so maybe he's feeling better. I just got really worried when I first saw his shell like that
