You guys are totally fine! Lol, you're helping me with your conversation so it's cool!

It depends on the types of plants you get, but I used root tabs under all my plants along with flourish and they grew like weeds!

You don't need too much at all.

I think I'm going for Java Moss, Anubias, and maybe some type of Java Fern... I don't know about the fern yet :p.

I'd just do flourish if you want for an extra boost. Those plants are pretty hardy and easy to keep :)

That's probably what I'll do :). I changed my mind by the way. I think I'll just stick with java moss and java fern. Do these need anything to grow on or will they just grow from the substrate? I'm really sorry if I'm asking way too many questions. Lol....

The moss will grow anywhere, the fern you plant in the substrate or you could tie it to some driftwood or a rock or something :)

IMO, I would go with more species. Unless correctly scaped, lighted, and stocked with fish, a tank with JUST Java Moss and Java Fern would be visually very boring.

If you're looking for LED lighting the finnex fugeray is a great led light system. Brian nano on the forums recommended it to me for my fire planted and my only complaint is I don't have enough money to change the rest of my tanks to them it's a truly great lighting system. The fugeray will cover you low to med light depending on tank depth and the fugeray 2 is supposed to be more high lighting. Brian_nano12 is also very helpful when it comes to plants and his advise has caused my tanks to thrive where plants are concerned. I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions if you shoot him a PM.

I was also looking at the finnex ray 2 and its ok but more pricey than the others. Though finnex has a much slimmer light fixture than aquaticlife. Decision, decisions.........

Java fern does better being tied to driftwood or a rock with a rough surface. It's roots like to hold onto something. You can plant it in the substrate but they just won't grow as well. There are a few different kinds of java fern btw. It's the normal kind, lace/windelov java fern, and narrow leaf.

Alright! I think that's all I need for now. Thank you so much you have all been extremely helpful :).

Fair enough :). What type of low light/low maintenance plant do you think would compliment the Java Moss and Java Fern visually?

Wow. Just...Wow :D. Thank you so much for the list! Lol. It will come in very very handy!

When do you plan on starting on cycling the tank?

Well, I don't have a set date yet, but as soon as I get the area I'm putting my tank cleared and I actually buy the tank XD. I found a 29g at my pet store yesterday that I have my eyes on :).

Petco has there $1 a gallon sale starting this sunday or next sunday. Im prob gonna get a tank or two.
Hopefully nobody buys the 29 gal before you get a chance to get it. :) What filter are you gonna use?

That's something I know almost nothing about. Lol! What brand would you recommend? I know I kind of wanted a HOB filter but I have no idea if that will be effective enough...I also don't know what kind o heater to get :s...

The fluval c4 and the marineland hob series are really good. Just make sure to get a filter that filters tanks 60+ gallons. You really only need canister filters for tanks over 40 gal. Below that and hobs should be ok. As for heaters, the eheim jagar and aqueon pros are really good IMO. On my 20 gal, i run a marineland 150 though i prob shouldve gotten a filter that cycles twice my tank size ( 40 gal ).
If you need any more help on choosing equipment for your tank, ill be glad to help. :D
