So I've picked out a few plants from plantedaquariumcentral.com! I've picked out a dwarf lily plant, anacharis, Italian Val's, cryptocoryne undulata, hydrophilic corymbosa, java fern, and bacopa Carolina !

Update! I decided to use peabodysparadise.com instead! Much better prices and lower shipping cost! I ended up purchasing anacharis, broad lead ludwigia, green cabomba, rotala indica, dwarf Lilly, potamogeton gayi, moneywort, bacopa caroliniana, bacopa bunch, hornwort bunch, water sprite( Indian fern and lace fern types) , three Italian Val's, and one mystery snail! All for only 40.00 USD including shipping!
I also ended up buying an odyssea 48" dual t5ho light fixture off of ebay,free shipping, only costed me 60.00 !

One more purchase! I bought 25.00 usd of tetras and rasboras, and one siamese algae eater!
Now it's just a big waiting game for things to arrive in the mail!

Nice list. The light was a good buy

Nice! Hard to beat peabody's :)

Just as a sidenote, if you do end up using excel or generic liquid carbon, it will melt the anacharis. It's usually a tough plant but is very sensitive to glut. Your experiences with vals and liquid carbon may vary as well, some people have had them melt, others not.

I could look into it, but it definitely wouldn't be anytime soon. I've always wanted to use co2 on a tank..

You should do a smaller say 20long and make it a nice co2 set up. Way more cost effective since you can use diy co2

That's a bit tough since the OP has already set up the 55, but you are correct that DIY would work on a 20.

One idea is to move the anacharis to a different tank (if possible) and do liquid carbon in the 55. That would be the best plan IMO but it's up to you.

That's a great idea, I have plenty of other tanks. It would be possible to add it to one of my 10 gallon tanks? I'd have to think about it though before I really jump into... If I converted another one of my tanks to a planted, it gets pricey! Maybe in the future:}

A 10g is perfect for diy co2. On a 10g if not high tech them price is on the lower side. Your main investment is a light that can handle you

Yes.. That's pretty much all I would need. I already have the basic setup for a ten gallon tank.

Have you read how to make diy co2? All you need is a 2L bottle, yeast, sugar, silicone airline, and the airline reverse flow things (cant remember the name) that keep water from backflowing

Update! The plants came in today!! Everything looks amazing as suspected! Now just waiting for the t5ho fixture to come in! It should come tomorrow or the next day!
Well here's some pictures
