Could 1 salvini and 1 carpintis be tank mates in a 120 4x2x2 ?
I know nothing is for sure but could it?

Its about 3.5 in. I realy didn't pay much attention to if it was male or female. I'm getting ready to head over there now. Is one sex preferred over the other in your opinion?

No, but the females have much better coloration usually and generally less testosterone.

They actually had 2 salvinis I only took one. If you go he or she is in one of the plant tanks 3rd or 4th tank on right in 1st row. They hide in a log so you wont see him just passing by the tank. They have some really large africans but not sure what they are or if you are interested in them. They also have a few different gymnos there other than that not a whole lot of ca/sa right now. Ill post a pic of the salvini after it settles its very dark right now.

I went there for the first time earlier this year and was not very impressed to say the least. Their stock was very cookie cutter and common for new worlds as well as their rift lake Cichlid selection. Their dry goods were lacking in quality and selection. The kids that worked there ignored us for nearly 15 minutes without even a "Hello can we help you find something", they simply kept talking amoung themselves. Then their ignorance was competing for their lackadaisical attitude when it came to ask questions. I don't visit many LFS due to these common complaints and most of their ridiculous pricing but Aquarium Adventure is light years ahead of that place.

Maybe I'm pickier than the average customer...

No no I agree there is only one employee that i work with there if I have any questions. If he is not there I browse and leave. Most fish I have got there were rehomes except my red spots and tapajos ( still not 100% sure that is what they are. still small) The few times I was in Aquarium adventure both shaumburg and bolingbrook several of the tanks had ick. The one thing I like about tropi quatics is most of the tanks are individually filtered and not on a main filtering system. Im new to new worlds so its not hard to please me yet. LOL where as you im sure have already had all the common ones. Not sure what you think of the red spot severums but Im still amazed with mine. I guess I need to look at aquarium adventure again.
Again HUKIT thanks for all you do here.
Mike

I may go on saturday for the floor show and exhibit when is the swap meet and where at?

Thanks Hukit for posting about the show in schaumburg, I'll probably take the family on Saturday also. I might go Sunday for the swap too.

The Salvini I got is a male and has good markings and coloring on fins with a great tourquois shimmer but completely lacks any yellow. hes about 4.5" and I was wondering if adding a female would cause better coloring?
Also I see salvini refered to as Nandopsis salvini and Cichlasoma salvini. Is there a difference? Thanks
