I bought a 90 gallon deep blue tank. I got my ehiem filter for a 125 gallon tank, my heater, my Hydor air stone, my glass canopy and my light with the 2 bulbs and a moon light

As of yesterday I filled the tank with treated water , and added live sand to it. I'm currently waiting for the 3 bags of sand I added to settle and I'm waiting for 2 more bags to still arrive.

I bought my pure ammonia from ace hardware today and once the sand settles I will be adding it to the tank.

I have dwarf water lettuce arriving tomorrow for the top for my gourami

Cool looking tank youve got there!

Just to mention, you aren't thinking of adding ammonia while your gourami is in the tank are you? This will kill your gour.

Noooo he's in my 30 gallon tank. No fish will be added until the fish less cycle is done

You can speed up your cycle by squeezing some of the gunk out of the 30 gallon's filter in to the new tank.

It's an ehiem 600. I'm not sure on the fish yet that's the last thing I'm going to worry about. At the moment I'm worried about the live sand settling at the bottom. It's been 24 hours and the waters still cloudy and I still have more bags to add

I know regular sand u wash but live sand you don't so I'm just going to give it time with the filter and air pump off

I read online it can be used in both if it's a fish less cycle because it has natural bacteria to help speed up the process

Added some plants and added the amonia. I turned on the air pump today and the filter. I'll keep it running until the next couple of live sand comes in. Cloudiness still isn't gone. Hoping the filter helps

The water has begun to clear up. My thermometer and my next 2 bags of sand will be arriving today so the tank will become dirty again for a little

Added 3 more bags of sand so that my plants can have a real grip in the tank.

Also my driftwood came in today. I'd say it was about 20 inches long. It's soaking now.

I hear all sorts of dif times for how many days to soak it. I'm going to go with a few weeks. I want my water to be as little discolored as I possibly can have it

Good stuff. Drift can be rather random with some pieces barely leeching and other that leech for months or what seems like forever. Got any ideas on what plants you want?

I have 2 African spears and 2 banana plants. I was thinking of attaching some christmas moss to the branch before I put it in. The question is how long is it going to have to be soaked for. It already sinks the only prob is getting it to stop leaking nasty color

I have the feeling this is a stupid question bc puffers are friendly but if I added them in my tank with my oscar would he die from the stress or would the oscar leave him be?
