Lol!! I understand. Those are such an impressive aqua!! Maybe we should trade some if you start feeling overrun by guppies one day :) the cross would probably be striking!

Oh how I wish... :( One day I will be! But for now I'm in the US...

It's a 10g with ghost shrimp and snails as well as some of the guppies you see pictured.

They have a very small amount of fry for so many. Normally I leave the fry in the tank with the parents for a week, and then move them to their own grow out tank. Only two of the four females have given birth in the last three months, so I'm not sure what's up...maybe they get eaten before I notice :p

Guppys have been known to eat their own fry, i've seen 2 of my females chasing down a baby, then a gourami got to it before i could.. :(

What do you guys prefer to use for birthing? Breeder boxes, birthing nets, nothing at all? I'm doing all of the above and having success with each method, but am debating converting my 5g into a birthing/grow out tank. I'm not sure I want overrun with guppies though either Trooper lol so this has been my constant debate...

I have a box i use to isolate fish that need extra TLC, that includes labour. I've never seen any of them dropping though so didn't get a chance to isolate them.

Idky but I love watching them give birth, it's fascinating and I think it's why I want to isolate them so badly

I use nothing. But I have a breeder box that I use if a fish is being picked on a little too much. I have only seen the birth once, and it was by chance.

I can't wait to see what this guys fry turn out like, not had any grow anywhere yet though, the gouramis love them..

I might set up a guppy only tank, but much like i don't want over run with snails, i don't want over run with guppys.

Do what I do... If you have a bigger tank move the females to the big tank. Good way to control population... And then whenever you want more babies you can just move one back.

Thank you!! He is my pride and joy! I had a tetra take a chunk out of his fan so I moved them into time out zone then shipped them off to my niece with an entire mini tank setup lol- I cannot wait to see how this little guy's babies turn out! They're one month now and my girls are ready to pop more out any day now! It's so exciting!!

That happened to me with my red eye tetra. His tail was 1"by 1" until he ruined it. Growing back now.

Are you doing anything special for it that I should try? So far I'm just using a treatment w aloe vera in it for damaged fins
