The 29 was making me nervous.. big bow in the glass, almost a 1/4", silicone was looking more and more stressed every day.. needless to say I don't need much of an excuse to do a new tank these days.. as much work as I put into the 29 it was just time to let go...enter 30 breeder.. boooom! 36 long, 12 high and 18 deep, this thing is a major upgrade for my apistos, pleco, run tetras, and hex barbs... I sprung for the black sand because A it looks cool and B I couldn't bear the though of reusing fluorite capped with pfs..check out the crime scene..

Cool Brook! You will love the 36L I bet. I see your two supervisors are there to help out. lol
Looking forward to seeing it set up.

Hey!!the man..the myth.. the scales.. it's a 36l??..not a 30 breeder?, this has the same footprint as a 40b, just 4 inches shorter..I'm going for a low tech carpet man!! I trimmed up your ar mini and put it front and center.. I'm now contemplating 2 finnex planted plus or 1 p plus and a sat plus for the back...
Ps. Yah they were helping alright.. took me 20 min to find the suction cup for my thermometer. .hey thanks binx..

It's pretty sweet, lfs had an old glass top too so.i can sit my pittbullys CFL top in it for now.. probably just keep it on there as I anticipate some ridiculous growth at that height

Nice tank. Looking forward to seeing it set-up. Always nice to get a new tank, especially a bigger one. Good luck with it, subscribed.....

Shotgun scape from yesterday afternoon, had dinner plans so I had 3.5 hours for this whole project.. I'm open to ideas peoples..be easy on me though.. I have a.d.d., which just so happens to be great in the teardown phase, the reconstruction?? Not always;)
Ps - I'd love to take credit for getting the heater to mostly hide behind the branch but it was just a stroke of dumb luck.. I'm hoping the rotala will create a nice wall along the back to hide the rest...and yes.. i know i forgot the background, had it sitting out the whole time.. a.d.d thing...

Haha! I was wondering when a "Step Brothers" reference would appear. Nice tank foot print. Scraping is something that (for me) takes hours to do. Lots of planning...I don't like planting and then moving the plants.

Haha had to do it.. I would have liked to take more time with it but I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out.. I trimmed down the roots so if I need to i can pop them out.. I have mebbid's root tabs peppered all over the place so I'd only like to add not move or remove anything starting tomorrow.. I'm kind of hoping runners will.do their thing and it will be pretty hands off from here on out.. I got some staur repens and pogo Helferi to plant later today.. thoughts on placement fresh? Scales? ? Anyone?? You.. you.???

Subscribed.

I would plant star repens up front snd trim regularly to keep it short and bushy. Maybe get the carpeting effect going.

I would plant the helferi in groupings along driftwood and stones.

I would also consider some pogostemon erectus to form a grouping near the rotala. They compliment each other nicely in dense bushy groupings

Just my thoughts :)

Hey sk3lly! Thanks for stopping by. I'll do exactly that, I think it will look great.. I'm working out a deal on some pogo er. With fresh as we speak.. the beauty of the is tank is a can cram a ton of plants in here.. keep the ideas coming!! Keep in mind we need plants that stay low and tight.. I'll be trimming that rotala weekly as is..if I upgrade the lighting back there it will be all out mayhem.. in a good way though;)

Would love one, but the wife wouldn't have it....lol

I might have to tell her it's bowing in front and spill any day now.

Thanks for the offer though.
