Found one on craigslist being sold, havent heard the best about marineland tanks though? Leaks? Would it be smarter if i just buy a brand new 55 aqueon instead?

I have a 30 gallon marine land and like it. No problems.

I have a 75 gallon bow, never had any problems. The plastic at the top cracked in a few spots but I can always replace it later. How much are they asking?

Tank thats used is 5-6 years old. Is that a red flag or do you think it will be fine? Tank is still running. Not sure the age life of a tank

Just inspect it real good. If the seals look all dried out I would pass on it. It's a gamble whenever you buy off CL. So far both my tanks (both from CL) have had no problems. I'm extremely anal when I inspect them. I passed on several before finding the ones I wanted.

Ask them to fill it with water before you arrive to check for leaks.

I would much rather have a used 75 than a new 55 personally. 75g is so much more flexible.

Its currently filled with water in his house. Plus it comes with a good amount of stuff. Wants 150 for all. Is redoing carpetting

Seems like a good deal. I bought my 75g for $200. Came with 2 canister filters, large piece of driftwood and fish which I rehomed and made $40 on.

I have tanks that I've owned, used, stored, moved cross country, set up again and again over the course of 20 years with no problems. I don't know what the life span of a tank is either but 6 years wouldn't make me think twice if it's filled when you see it.

Its all how it is taken care of. The only thing about a used tank for me is you never know what it has been used for and what chemicals could have been used inside it.

I have a Marineland 125 that was made in 1991, besides having to reseal the tank it's solid.

Was there no stand included? What's with the table cloth thing. As for hard water build up that's easy to clean with some vinegar and a blade. If it's just the tank I wouldn't pay 150.

Tank, metal stand, accesories etc. 55 set up is on sale for 125$ for filter heater lights lid stand and tank at my lfs, so im leaning toward that. Im thinking another discus tank

That's a decent deal for 55 gallon. I just know when I got my 55 I wasn't happy and immediately wanted a bigger tank. Do you have a 55 already?

Me and my bf have at his place a 55 and 125. But 55 seems to be more than enough space for the discus we currently have, alone with schooling fish. I dont think im interested in doing another s.a cichlid tank, we have the 125 set up as a mixed tank already. I have a gourami/silverdollar/black tetra set up currently in a sanded tank by me but im feeling a challenge. Aka discus ?

Full size adult discus are only a couple of inches shorter than the width of a 55g. They take a long time to reach that size but a 75 will be a better long term home. Most people think the 6-7" is full size but I have seen them much larger than that. I was honestly surprised the first time I saw a full size one.
