Having some melt on the ar,the staurogyne repens completely melted away...I'm dosing 3 ml for micros/macros(w/a slight bump in iron in the macro bottle)&haven't been dosing any nitrates...

Getcha sleeves wet fish tank people!

I've had malformed leaves with the AR mini but no melt. Same with the star repens. This appears to be a common occurrence especially with the star repens. Makes me think of an etiological agent (viral, bacterial) versus a nutrient issue. But that's just speculation. Brookster has endured multiple melts and his are doing fine now. His stars may be a mixed of some of the ones I sent. Idk.
Currently I am seeing some poor growth with some of the new AR mini leaves. The stars are doing fine. My crop is on the rebound from a heavy trimming but I could send you some (since the weather is looking nicer).

I've found the ar mini needs a complete reboot every so often. Trim what looks good, replant and scrap the rest.. stars are a mystery to me.. i did supplement with fresh's and 8t seemed to help..

I do reboot the AR mini a couple times a year. Less so with the stars. But it is necessary from time to time.

Just an update:
Fed the fish the usual FD and flakes. Threw in some Repashy. It sinks so the amano's, shrimp, and Otos get to is first. Shrimp are messy eaters so the CPDs are often lurking nearby picking off any scraps. Forgive the terrible looking UG:

The macrandra (when not uprooted) is starting to produce small greenish leaves

Haven't had the time to get through the whole thread yet, but enjoyed what I've had the chance to read through (back to front of course, LOL). I love the notion of a tank that has the biodiversity of a reef system - wish more people would try and emulate that notion. IMO it makes for a much more interesting and diverse system that can awe you with new discoveries every day rather than the same O - same O. Plant looks great - looking forward to checking out your choices of substrate and methods of filtration.

Thanks for the compliments.
Wy - I will spare you the scrolling.

You're tank is so beautiful. I can only hope mine will look half as good one day.

I only had four in there. Deleted two of them. Still waiting before I can ship :)

Cough up $15.02 for the annual subscription. Here are the perks:

No rush on the package...fish aren't starving.
Woke up the fish this morning (Yes, I am bad) to get a 1 month update shot from the most recent rescape. Some plants doing okay, some not:

The stars are my goto plant. They love it in here!

Nice growth. What are the ones on the right?

Those are Downoi (Pogostemon helferi). Cute little plants. They get to a nice size when established. Booger to keep them in place though when starting out.
