As a Veterinary Technician of 14 years I'm a true believer that everyone should adopt a shelter pet. My clinic works in co-ops with a no kill cat shelter. My baby Mckenzie had rough life too. But she loves life. As you can see she has a derpy ear. Gives her personality!

Eek, derpy ear of awesomeness!

Lost my 11 year old boy in January but all 5 of them are from shelters (y)

Yep, it's like losing a family member for sure . It took me a year to get another child wuth fur. She's the best.

Same with both of mine. Mimi was going to have to be put to sleep if the owners didn't find a home for her. Smokey Joe was a stray in Virginia with his brother, dad, and two sisters. We rescued him because he had a bad eye (now fine) and he was the thinnest and only a few weeks old we knew he wouldn't last long, even with all of that it took my three days of begging to let me bring him home. Will post pictures tomorrow.

My cichlids (or pigs whatever you prefer) get jealous whenever I am messing with the other tanks because they think I am feeding the other tanks and not going to feed them. :D

My Keyhole stares me down close to feeding time. He's such a creeper.:)

Oh, I forgot Smokey is now almost 20 pounds. He has an instinct that whenever he sees food he has to eat because of how long he was starving as a kitten. Also he raids our neighbors outdoor dog food bowl.

Here's Squeaker when we first set up our first tank.

And our second tank "the fry tank" a month later.

Three more tanks later...he throws a fit if we bring home anything for the tank, if it's a fish, he'll hold a grudge.

My 2 dogs get jealous when I come home. I pet them for a second, and then go look at my tank...they think it is still 'their time'

I think my fish actually get jealous of my other fish. For example, I'll be rearranging the guppy tank and the zebra danios will all be crowding in the corner closest to the guppies.
