What's a good copper test?

Edit: My dad looked at the video and at the gramma just now and says the gramma didn't/doesn't have MI. Said it was probably some stuff he picked up from being in the rocks.
Going to wait for more spots to show up, and if they do I'll treat it.

If the spots fall off in the "am " after lights are on it could be just "stuff" from tank.
I honestly did not see much in video to point at so your dad could be right.

Ok I'll have to watch him amd the others alot closer now. I'll also hold off on buying anymore fish until I know things are clean.

I wouldn't rush to treatment on a fish. Make sure it's well fed and in a stress free environment and it should recover just fine.

Feeding frozen brine shrimp and some pellets tomorrow.
No spots on any fish today thaf I saw. I never got a good look at the goby so he might have spots but I'm not sure
Going to keep the stuff I bought yesterday for a QT.

Weekly trip to an lfs ends with 13 more pounds of tonga rock, 2 pacific blue tangs, and a flame angel. When the tangs get bigger the lfs said they would take one back on a trade, and these guys are maybe an inch long. The flame angel is close to 2.5 inches long and 1.5-2 inches tall.
Done getting large pieces of tonga, and now its just little pieces to fill in some spots.
Going to look at getting a coral banded and/or peppermint shrimp next Sunday.

This thread makes me anxious to get mine set up lol

Lol can't wait for you to start yours!

Lets start this off with an fts

The smallest little fish I have ever seen that get huge

The new boss of the tank

The tangs seem to be fine now, but in the acclimatization bucket they where laying on their side. Didn't think they where going to do so good.

Doesn't look like it to me but could be wrong.

Its amazing what my dad sees when he wears his glasses...

Went to my normal lfs after work today for shrimp and tang food. Asked the long time owner who my dad bought all his coral, rock, and fish from 25 years ago, and he said the flame angel has ich.
I got home with a cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, Hikari seaweed extreme, and a Jebao RW-8 powerhead and began to set up the 20L QT. Had to remove all the rock to catch every fish, but before adding them to the 20L I gave them a freshwater dip to remove any cysts. I used ild water to fill the 20, so I'll have to do a copper treatment to kill this thing.
Not sure how the royal gramma is going to handle the QT because he was laying on the bottom when I checked on them last.
I don't think the flame angel brought the ich, but it was the gramma who originally brought it and it showed up again in force on the angel.

How long can I keep all the fish in the 20L?
Would adding a few small pieces of LR to the 20 and then doing a copper treatment ruin them for adding back to the DT?

Everything in a 20L I would think might be more detrimental than good due to stress. I would go ahead and get another 20L or 2 for qt to reduce some stress (petco is having their dollar per gallon sale). As for the live rock, once copper is introduced its there for the long haul.. I've dealt with tanks where copper was dosed and 3 years later the live rock and what not was still leaching detectable amounts 3 years later and counting..
