This is the one I built. I am using the standard fluval hose now instead of the braided hose I had on it

This is similar to my design.

I have it mostly assembled but waiting for the epoxy to set (used at the CO2 inlet).

I took pics and I will post them.

Oh boy...

In-line CO2 reactor is built installed and running on my tank.

DIY pics and explaination...a few minutes for the pics to upload and I will post about how I built it.

DIY - Inline CO2 reactor....

Materials I used:

1' PVC Pipe
1"x3/4" elbow (threaded on one end)
3/4" x 5/8" elbow hosebib
Star media looking thing I had (bio media for a canister)
Brass 1/2"x1/8" nipple - CO2 Connection

Very simple design. Water from the outflow of my canister will enter the reactor at the top and flow down through the star media things and out the bottom and up to the tank.

The star media things inside the pipe - lucky me they fit exactly inside the pipe. I am going to lose some flow but I'm not that stressed about that. I have the MP10 in the tank to keep the water moving. There will be enough flow through the filter to keep things in good shape I think.

Drilling the hole for the brass co2 nipple -

I was concerned about the hole I drilled and knew it would be a point for leaks so I got some water tight 2-part Epoxy to solve the problem:

And here is the final product after a quick tape off and paint job..

Installed under the tank. The blue line come off the co2 nipple is draining into a bucket to allow the air out. I also had to turn the whole thing upside down to get all the air out of the pipe

Here it is with the co2 line connected and injecting co2 into the system.

Nice build, I botched the brass thread so I had to get a little more involved. Works well though. Currently.using the smaller one, Not as spiffy as yours though;)

As long as it works that is all that matters!

Do you have a lighter I could use?

Dude, nice lighter collection

Tank looks good Ziggy! Give it a couple weeks and it will look even better withe everything filled in! (y)

Well crap! My pH probe arrived today - it did not come with calibration solutions and I didn't order any. I had some but cannot find them. I have a lovely new pH probe that is completely useless.

Gotta order some solution and get this thing calibrated.

As an update for the tank with new CO2 reactor, things look good, no leaks and no micro-bubbles in the tank.

Interestingly enough I have the CO2 running at about 3-4 bps and my drop checker is green not yellow. I was a little worried I was going to come home to a bunch of happy plants and dead fish/shrimp. Everything looks happy and the plants are pearling like crazy.

I guess time will tell. I need to pull water samples and test pH and see where I am with CO2.

Too bad about not having the right juice to calibrate things.
I'm wondering if the DC is in the right spot in the tank for a true representation of the "ballpark" CO2. Running more than one might give you different readings.
If clear PVC weren't so costly I would make a reactor out of that. Just so curious of what is going on in there.

I'm not sure what you mean....

Nevermind...my brain caught up to what you are talking about.
