Hey guys, I have always loved fish and invertebrates and think I have a handle on the basics of fish keeping. However, I am absolutely horrendous with aquatic plants. I have browning on some leaves and the plants in general don’t look so healthy. I’d love to know what I can do and what fertilizer to add to make them a little happier.
Tanks specs:
10 g with heater, currently heated to 79F, filter is Aqua clear 20. Nitrates, nitrites and ammonia are all 0. Used API master test kit. Inhabitants include betta, mystery snail, nerite snail. Tank was recently moved which stirred up some sand, recently plants haven’t been looking great. I have some flourish root tabs but haven’t used them in a few months.
The light is a new NICREW LED light 17 watts, running for 6 hours a day. The browning and holes in the leaves look like a sort of deficiency and I’d appreciate any recs on ferts or if I should dose co2 (and how much). I’ve noticed some hair algae too. Usually I change 15-20% weekly.
I’d really appreciate any tips or advice!
