My roommates and I went bowling tonight here in Spearfish. I drove the Camaro, and something less than stellar happened on the way home. I was crawling along at ~25mph(speed limit here in town), and I see some deer on the side of the road. I slow down to 20 and creep by them. Well...one of them had it out for me...the deer have joined the ****ed Animal Conspiracy! Lo and behold, WHAM! One of the little ______(insert any profane word that you feel fits here) ran into the side of the Camaro. Put a fair sized dent right behind the passenger door. No damage to the paint...just a basketball sized dent, and the glass in the mirror broke. I stopped and got out to see what the little ____(insert same profane word here) was doing. It was kicking around in the road, but managed to get to its feet and sprint off into the woods. I don't have my camera up here, but I'll get pics on Friday.

The Animal Conspiracy is growing in numbers, and if we aren't careful they are going to strike again!

The Camaro:

oh awesome car! ill take it, dent or not LOL
we have deer that come down to the street I live on in winter and (its a long road with no lights.... no places for cops to park and a great place to speed at bout 60... when the limit is 20) anyways, in the winter you have to be careful cause they are ALWAYS down at the road
sorry about your car though... it sucks when stuff like that happens. My friends mom backed into my car a couple months ago and sounds like we had about the same amount of damage delt to our cars. its sucks

So... they can run into the side of a car. I always wondered about that.

BTW, I put those $9 whistles on the front of my cars. I've seen them get out of or further away when I get near. Dunno. I've heard tell of folks with the whistles hitting them too.

A Camaro w/ deer whistles...that'd look interesting. With questionable affectiveness, I'll take my chances.

They wouldn't fit in those 3 black grill spaces? maybe they aren't tall enuf?

Heck, for $9, I'd take my chances that they work at least sometime.

that happened to my best friend and i on our way to school. he had an old sixty somethin impala practically mint condition. we never saw the deer though. the deer rammed his car so hard that the antlers pierced the door and popped off the inside panel. the wort part was when we stopped, the deer was still stuck and totallly thrashing around.......kickin in the whole side of the friggin car.

cops came and shot it....right there on the side of the road.

Deer whistles work when placed correctly. They have to allow air to flow completely through them. If there is something behind them, then they can fail. Putting them into a bumper grille or a grille is unreliable at best. They were designed for mirrors or the roof ideally.

The dent on the rear quarter can be removed by magnetic stud pulling and shrinking of the metal. It doesn't need to be replaced. Trust me, I've worked with autobody for 20 years. The door however should be blended to maintain color consistency.

Both my husband and I have hit deer in our cars, although it was several years ago for both of us. I'm sorry about that, Mike :( Your car is nice and I hope you can get it fixed easily.

i saw this car on the side of the road that hit a deer, nasty stuff, hood all banged up windsheild completely shatered and bowed in and the roof was bent inwards and crinckled upwards like a foot. like the hood/windsheild could have hit him in the head, it was that bent in. blood everywhere and a deer laying next to the car. horrible.

That's really unfortunate. Just because I'm a nice guy, I'll make a deal for you. You can have all my perfectly good new high tech planted stuff. All you have to give me is that banged up old Camero.

Get a brush guard for your Camaro and next time step on the gas!

Not sure how this helps me when I was nearly stopped, and the deer hit the side of the Camaro.

High tech planted 75 gallon for my Camaro...hmm....

Well I have been wanting to trade it for a similar LS1...

Yeah, you guys are pretty lucky. I'm an insurance agent in Southern Illinois where deer claims are a daily occurance. I've seen new SUV's totalled from a deer. It's that time of year when they are everywhere. Deer season is just around the corner.

LOL!! I thought I was the only one that had a deer run into my car.

A few years ago my wife and I bought a new van (got kid need van) and I was on my way home from work in the new van. I was sitting at a stop light and a deer running full speed slammed into the left finder and door. I'm glad I'm not the only one that the deer have eyes for.

Sorry to hear about your car though. It does stink!
