The hairgrass and tears are considered high light, co2 recommended plants. From what i understand, they'll survive in moderate light with no co2,but they won't really grow. java fern and anubias are GREAT low light plants, and there are a couple different looking options in each type.
There's plenty of depth under the canopy, but the canopy walls are flush with the tank, so if the lighting had a flange it couldn't rest outside the tank lip, if that makes sense.
My budget isn't exactly set. I'd like to keep it around $150, but if I have to spend a little more for a better lighting setup, I would consider it.
The current setup has a nice canopy on the top as well, which may or may not limit my lighting to fixtures that could be mounted. The current...

BlueLine 48" 36w White VHO LED Strip :: LED Lighting Systems :: Lighting :: Champion Lighting & Supply
I bought my 75g (tall) second-hand and this lighting strip was installed. the 48" white LEDs.
It's been a few years since I've had a tank and I'm behind on the lighting game.
I have been...
Flourish Excel has directions on the bottle that say to dose every other day. Some people on here (myself included) prefer to do a half-dose daily.
I don't have any experience with crayfish specifically, but I have had two bamboo shrimp for two weeks and they're doing great.
Is this the same stuff that floats on the top of the water?
I have a film that gathers along the surface of the water. I have my spray bar on one side of the tank, pushing water across the length. The parts that are moving you can see the film is not there, but it settles on the far end of the...
I had the same problem with my 75g planted tank that's been up a few weeks. It looked like rust all over one of the plants and driftwood.
I added 5 Otos and two Nerite snails and the NEXT DAY most of the algae had disappeared.
I think the Otos were mostly responsible for the work, you could...
Anything that's designed to kill something that's living is dangerous. If your water numbers were good and then all of a sudden your fish died after the AlgaeFix, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that something in there directly (or indirectly) was to blame.
If it killed a bunch of algae at...
It doesn't look deformed in that sense. I looked closer at it today and two of the other plants from that bunch have a second fork, but not a third.
This one looks really symmetrical and looks like the plant is supposed to be that way.
