    Fresh2o’s 29g Blackwater Tank

I like number 2, but number 4 would be good if you could use rocks to leave it with a length of the tank overhang that doesn't emerge from the water. I've used Eucalypt roots I've gathered myself and the tannin it releases hasn't been a big issue in my experience.

Organic worm casting soil in Planted tank

Just make sure you don't get fish in the tank that enjoy sifting the substrate. The first planted tank I tried out was a dirted tank with some goldfish. After the fish had eaten all the expensive salad I bought from the pet shop they proceeded to make a huge mess of the tank by digging out the...

    Fresh2o’s 29g Blackwater Tank

Kuhli's are fun to watch when they are active but they can be pretty shy. I'd definitely recommend them though.

    Old Time Cryptocoryne

Aquarium industries in Australia have three different Wendtii versions, I have the brown Wendtii and it sounds like it's a good match for the description you gave. The leaves ruffle more with higher light and it does send out runners more frequently than many other crypt varieties i have...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Thanks Fresh. I'll give Imgur a go. I was just looking at using a google account. I actually have an old gmail account if i can remember the details. It was last used two PC's ago so the login details aren't coming to mind. I guess it's time to dust off the old camera.

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I enjoy your novels Autumnsky. It makes me feel like i'm not the only one looking for spare spaces to put in another tank. I almost emptied a sock drawer last week to house another nano tank. I'm a little envious that you are getting you buce to flower. I had hoped that my anubias varieties...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I have some ongoing treatments for white spot. Unfortunately i've had three harlequin rasboras die. One bleeding heart tetra looks like it may not survive. It's the only one with visible spots now, but they showed up after the rest seemed to clear up. It's tail looks to be losing some small...

    Ich/White spot best treatment

Thanks for the advice guys. In the end I had already bought some blue planet rapid white spot remedy and took the temperature to to 81. It's seemingly working well after 2 treatments and a 50% water change between them. Only one fish still has issues and it has improved rapidly. I'll keep up...

    Ich/White spot best treatment

It would appear that i have an Ich infestation and was wondering if people think heat and salt treatments or medications work best to treat the issue. I have Quarantine tanks and spare heaters. I just want to know what people think is the best solution.

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I'll try and get some pics of the shrimp soon. My last attempt was in a shallow tank where I think they got too hot. This time they're in a black bucket which is deeper and holds a lower temperature. I also added some rocks from the creek I found them in which were covered in algae. I've kept...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I bought a couple more plant packs on Friday Ludwigia glandulosa and hygrophila araguaia. I put some of the hygro in my Betta tank, the rest in my community tank, I had to clear some space in the right hand side by halving the number of stems of another plant (can't remember what its called)...

Khuli Loach one of my favs.

Your tank looks great Tmaier. I think I overcrowd my own scapes with too large a variety of plants at times. I've only got one tank with a minimal plant list and I enjoy it more than my jungle tanks. Keep up the good work

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I went and caught some wild shrimp on the weekend with bait traps. I tried in two rivers and found 2 wildly different types. The first lot just looked like glass shrimp. The second pair were a rather cool because they had long skinny claws at the front end. Unfortunately they all died. I'll get...

    First attempt at aquascaping

Ludwigia repens is nice, Pink baby tears, pennywort are three that have done pretty well in any tank I've thrown them into. The Ludwigia grows pink on the underside of the leaves at lower light, can grow anywhere from dark green, a rusty brown colour and even red if you have your light and...
