    Lonely Cory

I ordered 6 Duplicareus Corydoras last week. Disaster struck while quarantining and I ended up with just one. My question is, which other species can I mix with him? I can no longer find these as they are rare and sold out and needs to be with others. I can get some Adolfois or Pandas. Do you...

    Lost 4 new Corys

I would’’ve had to used a piece of filter media to immediately cycle the tank. Adding display tank water does NOT cycle a tank.

    Lost 4 new Corys

They seemed so happy that first day. The LFS girl that help me set up my tank Insisted that I do it without seeding i(don’t already have a cycled extra tank) . I even told her that most people online say to at least seed your tank but she insisted to start with a clean fresh environment. The...

    Lost 4 new Corys

Newbie mistake? So to complete my community tank, I wanted to get some small Corydoras so I ordered 6 young Duplicate Corys by mail and they arrived about 16 hrs later. (They are really small at .75 inch each) They all survived and seemed OK except for one that was lethargic. Realized the next...

    Quarantine WC

It was at .25 but I decided to do another wc in case it got too high overnight and I lose more fish so I did a 50% wc One of them suddenly died within minutes so I decided to put the rest in my main display but another one was already on his side as I put him in and died and now have 3 left...

    Quarantine WC

After my second water change, I tested it a few hours later and it is at almost .25 so I immediately added more Prime even though I added more than necessary for the last water change in case. So obviously 20% is not enough. So I ask again, what is the recommended percentage water change that...

    Quarantine WC

I have five young Duplicate Corydoras with a good quality heater and filter in an unseeded and uncycled 6g Plastic tote as a quarantine tank. I did a 20% water change and about to do my second daily 20% water change. Is this the appropriate amount for a wc on a daily basis for an...

    First tank EVER!!!

Elizae can’t wait to see! Will wait for the sand before getting the Corys. ? Might get a snail too. Is that too much? 1 dwarf Goirami 6 H Rasbora 2 Ottos 4-6 panda Corys And maybe 1 snail?

    First tank EVER!!!

I wish I knew before to wait for a more established tank for the Ottos, or at least waited for them to mature a bit longer at the LPS. Most of her advice was pretty good but they usually don’t carry them. Hopefully the Pandas are not so sensitive in a new tank (fully cycled btw)

    First tank EVER!!!

I had lots of algae but I also heard since they are usually wild, the bacteria they need to digest depletes during travel, leaving them still starving even when feed upon arrival. I’ll give the sand a try but can be vacuumed up if it causes too many headaches. I heard sand is better but...

    First tank EVER!!!

I’ve actually checked up on him a few times at night and is pretty still, stays under the floaters (Salvinia). He hasn’t been hanging near the surface (like he’s supposed to) since I got him which is why I got the floaters. Spends most of the day foraging my driftwood and substrate. Only been...

    First tank EVER!!!

Hey everybody. Been waiting to have my tank cycled and stocked a bit before introducing myself. I cycled my very first tank using the pure ammonia method and was fully cycled after 27 days (4ppm of Amm. to 0<24h) Continuously adding plants (java fern, Marimo balls, Anubis, Amazon sword, etc with...

    Counter reinforcement

I did consider putting a piece of wood there for extra support as I know how important it is to the supports the corners But I ended up putting all four legs to be 100% sure. My countertop can now take almost 1000 pounds ? either way, I will be prepared if ever I want to upgrade my tank...

    Counter reinforcement

Hey everybody! For my first aquarium, I got this 16 gallon tank (fluvial vista) and my counter top does not have proper support. I bought these legs that can hold about 250lbs each. Is this setup sufficient? Is it overkill to use all 4 legs to cover the tanks 4 corners or is that overkill?
