Do snails considerably add to the bioload of the aquarium? Specifically black mystery snails (1), and Japanese Trap Door snails (~3)? If I add them to a 30 gallon tank with 3 Malaysian trumpet snails, with fish, it won't throw anything off? Cheers.

yeah! sounds about right. Seems like they're harmless though!

I'm not too certain that they're daphnia, since daphnia are in the water, and these guys are jumping on the water surface...unless they do that too...

So today, I saw some little bugs hopping on the surface of my tank. They're tiny, white looking and hop hop hop across the surface. I can't really find any information about them -- what they are, are they dangerous, should I get rid of them, CAN I even get rid of them. Just wondering if...

Hmm, he was there first and then my friend just gave me the kribs since she got rid of her tank... Would bristlenose plecos be the same nuisance? Would anyone recommend another type of algae eater in lieu of my pleco?

Also, plecos don't EAT baby fish, they're herbivores? Or is he going after the babies? I don't know...

I happened to run into the Petrocephalus bovei bovei or the Baby Whales today... Just wondering if anyone has information on them, or housed them, or if they would fair well in a community take etc etc There's not much info online about them though. Hmm.

Hmm, so then it would be useful for the setting up and cycling of a tank and then after everything is established, I won't need a new one, and just let the bacteria thrive? It also reduces that "fishy" smell, no?
