    Plant ID and some advise

Thanks, Definitely not sheets and I agree i like it on the wood also. As for the Alternanthera, I have just been clipping the leaves that get covered with Algae at water changes and the plant seems to love it, it is grows faster and looks healthier when I clip off the infested leaves.

    Plant ID and some advise

I have a plant that I cant seem to keep the bright green allege from covering the leaves. I noticed that it is very red, would this indicate low nitrates? My test kit is hard to read but phosphate should be about 1 and Nitrate is around 10. The nitrate gets used up pretty quick so I may try...

Curse of the green cloud, this bloom has me beat! need help

Notice though that N03 was .5 ppm immediatly after a water change. Once I do a water change I alway dose my ferts so it was brought up to 15ppm before the lights even came on. I cut off the NO lights and will to a 50% water change today and see what happens.

Curse of the green cloud, this bloom has me beat! need help

I have done everything I can think of and I am about done. I am not sure what to do now. I have green cloudy water that will not go away. I have done two complete 4 day blackouts followed by a 75% water change and it only takes a matter of hours before the water starts clouding up again. Due...

Algae seems to be under controll except for....

Thread algae. It isnt as bothersome as the BBA it only takes about 10 minutes every morning to remove it all with a tooth brush but DANG! this stuff grows fast! I will remove it all and the next day there are several 6" threads going from plant to plant. So at plant geek it says excess iron...

    Prunning Glosso

Do you need to prune? If so how the heck do you do it? My glosso is so thick right now I cant push through it to the substrate with my finger. It isnt spreading anymore but gets thicker every day. Looks kind of cool too :D

Another EI dosing routine. . .

Thats very similar to mine except my NO3 uptake is much greater and I need to dose 1/2 to 3/4 tsp of KNO3. I was using this for my micro solution but whenever I use it my water starts clouding and I start getting green algae outbreaks so I just stopped using it. I am thinking of trying just...

    Call me color blind

But I am having a real hard time with telling the colors apart with my test kits. I have tried tetra test, JBL, and now I have seachem. The colors are just to hard for me to tell apart. I need to get fairly accurate results for nitrate and phosphate. With my seachem nitrate kit I have a hard...
