I tried to vent, and i came up with some odd results... Either i did this right and i have 8 females and no males, or i did it wrong and have 8 males and no females... Otherwise i am positive they would have bred by now.

So i have honestly done research before starting this thread, just to make that clear, but i haven't found too much information on how to sex and breed labs. Some sources say the female is pale and the male has pointed fins, then other sources say the females can be the same color and also have...
But ideally cichlids require a bigger tank than a 40 breeder, i would wait and get a bigger tank personally...

Call your lfs, just say you got the wrong fish, and you would like to return it or get store credit. Rehome the peacock and just get more zebras or rusties or something

You need to relocate those guys Unless you like watching cichlids tear each other to shreds. Those guys WILL kill every last fish in that tank...

Look up auratus... They are yellow, but if they are a female they they turn blue... But that could take weeks, so its probably just stressed.

Is this the same fish from the second pic up top? This looks nothing like a lab... I have no clue what it is though...
