Last January I picked up a fully grown pair of angels that were dumped at my lfs, the previous owner claimed they were a breeding pair when they dropped them off. When I first brought them home, they were active and displayed behavior consistent with them wanting to spawn (sparring, liplocking...
About 6 months ago I brought home a fully grown pair of angels from my lfs and since then I've been having many problems with one of them. I've had an exceptionally hard time getting any weight on her, she eats like crazy but never seems to gain any weight. She's always had this strange poop...
That's what I was thinking too. I'll just have to wait to know for sure until they spawn, which will hopefully be soon. Thanks!

So a few weeks ago I picked up a pair of large angels at my lfs. The person who dumped them there claims they are a breeding pair, although the lfs had no proof. They do seem bonded, and follow eachother all around. There is some aggression (but perhaps actually spawning behavior?), and today I...
Thanks for the replies! We opted to drop the idea of the angel, and instead we're looking into a school of bottomfeeders. We'll be putting it together this sunday, and I'll be seeding it with media from my 120 to help the cycle along. Thanks for all of your advice!

It is not a hex tank, the dimensions are 48.5"x13"x25". Perhaps that is what threw off the dimensions a bit. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely look into the pearl gourami.

Tank is 60 gallons. So far we were thinking about:
6 Cherry Barbs
1 Angelfish
1 Blue Gourami
6 Harlequin Rasboras
1 Smaller Pleco (perhaps BN or Rubberlip?)
I put it in to aqadvisor and got a stocking level of 84%, however I feel like this is pretty high for the small amount of fish I plugged...
Yes thank you I am going for lighting in the medium to high range, similar to the marineland led. I'll definitely look into the ones you guys suggested, thanks!

Recently I've been having issues with my Marineland Aquatic Plant LED, it's been overheating like crazy and you cannot turn on the tv and the light at the same time or the circuit will blow. This is the second one of these lights I've had issues with, the first the company replaced but I'm not...
I was planning on keeping some more delicate fish like angels and GBR so I'd rather not have the temp fluctuate much. In my 60 I currently have a 200W, which was why I thought maybe two of them would work, because like you pointed out it's double the size. I just wasn't sure if this would work.
So I'm upgrading my 60 gallon to a 120 and had a few questions about heating it properly. I've been reading all over the internet and have gotten so many different responses. If I was heating a 120, and the room temp is around 74 degrees F, how many watts would be sufficient. I was thinking that...
Planning a planted tank?
So I have finally decided to make the leap into a more complicated planted aquarium, and have decided to transform my 60 gallon tank into a planted tank. So please tell me if this plan would work. The dimensions of my tank are 12.75"L x 48.5"W x 25" H. My lighting...
