Goopy white stuff on molly!!! Please help

so after a while, it looked as though it was getting better. Now all three molies have the "stuff" on them. They are all lying on the bottom of the tank, and they looked dead, but they are still alive. They have little to no interest in food, and I am worried that they are starving to death...

Goopy white stuff on molly!!! Please help

So, I was looking at my fish today, and I noticed my silver lyretail molly had a lot of goopy white stuff on his tail. It is not like small little white stuff, but like little bits of half-dried glue that is squishy. I don't think it is body fungus either. I just introduced a new fish, but...

    New (used) tank!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I would not think about a koi for that tank. Koi need a pond, and dont do well in tanks, especially one of that small size. 2-3 fancy goldfish might work, but would again limit your tank-mate options. And about the whole purchasing fish at Walmart thing...DON'T...

    Silver Molly Question

Well, if you weren't there for the birth, then there is little info for us. More than likely, if the tank is heavily planted, she would not have managed to eat all of the fry, depending on the amount of time you were gone... She might have abandoned the birth, I know a lot of first time mothers...

If you were a 12 year old boy what would you want in your tank?

put in some live plants and a betta with a bright colored tail. Maybe not pinkish-red like some but a dark blue, and if you can, maybe even yellow?! I know most fish stores don't stock the pretty "rare" strains of bettas, but if there is a breeder in your area...;)

    Worried about tank...NEED HELP ASAP

ok, and BTW the betta is not kept with any other fish. He is in his own 5.5 gallon. The 25 gal is full of community schooling fish, and the 10 gal with tetras:)

    Worried about tank...NEED HELP ASAP

yep I'm cycled :) and I will. The owner is a close family friend so I'm sure they will do that for me. I will add the bubbler. I saw on another thread that someone said something about too much oxygen in the tank being bad so...but oh well, I don't think adding the bubbler would be bad...right?

    pregnant or sick?

Well, mollies and platies look very similar IMO when they are pregnant. Just wait a while, and if she has babies...well then I suppose you have your answer ;)

    Worried about tank...NEED HELP ASAP

So I have a 25 gallon tank. I am going to the fish store today to get my molly males (so they wont have babies) I am really worried about my tank at this point. I have a filter running right now, and yeah it is working fine, but I am really worried that my fish wont be able to breathe. The...

    pregnant or sick?

well bloat is usually because of overfeeding. The tank is obviously filtered and clean, so you probably just overfed or something. To treat bloat, take some thawed, deshelled pea. Mash it up and feed to the sick fish. Also, reduce the amount of food you are feeding or prevent her from eating...

BETTAS - Can I keep them in these bowls?

To answer your question simply, yes. A betta COULD be kept in there, if you want it to die three days later. Bettas need to be kept in at LEAST a three gallon tank, but are only comfortable in a 5 gallon setup and up. A ten gallon would be great for betta fish, but all that fuss for one fish...

Aquarium Newbie? Lots of QUESTIONS! :O

Yep, I cant add much more than that! Like she said, there isn't really a "better" in terms of freshwater or saltwater, but I usually recommend fresh to new tank owners because they are easier to maintain(no salt to mess with) Other than that, nothing much else you need to know!
