i would say it is stress, but i would keep a close eye on it to make sure its nothing worse, try raising the temp a little bit, and adding a small amount of aquarium salt, which restores essential electrolytes. How long has the tank been cycled for?

i wouldnt put those fish in at all, they will die, is your tank cycled? for how long? what are readings?(ammonia, nitrates, nitrites), all important info. dont use ph inhibitors or adjusters, they do more harm than help.

i just pour it down the tub in my basement washroom, everyone knows that basement washrooms are all ways skuzzy anyway........

that betta will probably die pretty quikly unless u get it into a tank with atleast a heater, a 10 g tank is usually good for one betta, give him/her a good home and they will last longer they will be more fun when they have a nice big home, you dont really need a filter becuase bettas are...

your best bet would be to get some filter media or various tank media from a clean fully cycled tank(established for a few months) to kick start the process, the artificial bacteria wont work, they only maintain between certain temperatures that lfc's you buy from dont regulate by, the only one...
