    Cichlid Parents

Nope. She actually spit all the eggs out, they were clear and white so I’m guessing unfertilized. Moved her back to regular tank and she’s been chasing the other two but they show no interest. No clue if there’s even a male

    Cichlid Parents

So back in August I asked for help Identifying 3 cichlids, the consensus was that the Orange and black peacock is an OB hybrid, the other peacock is an electric blue male, and the other was a yellow lab. Turns out the electric blue named Georgie is actually a Georgia, as I found out yesterday...

    Plath fry runt

I don’t have a spare tank but I could maybe divide the fry tank for now, but I think they’re a bit young to determine make from female completely. I definitely plan on keeping them all at least for now, I’m just not sure if I should be concerned about this particular one being so small.

    Population Control

I think another gourami would help, as long as they’re similar size as the other fish, because they are sometimes semi aggressive when it comes to dominating another. I’ve used a smaller gourami and a young cichlid to control my molly fry population in my 30gallon because for some reason nearly...

    Plath fry runt

So I have 4 Mickey Mouse platy fry that are almost 4 months old. 1 is large, 2 are average/medium size, and one is pretty small. The small one is also more of a long oval without the curves of the others.. kinda like a rectangle. He’s a good swimmer and seems to be eating fine, but I noticed he...

    Mbuna identification

Does anyone know the specific names for these guys?? The yellow, orange and blue cichlids. And I know this is a cichlid forum, but if anyone knows the names for either of these gouramis as well that’d be cool lol. I think they’re the same, maybe male and female. Thanks [emoji4]

    30+ Premature Molly fry

This is what they looked like in a dish thing as I transferred them to the tank

    30+ Premature Molly fry

So long story short, one of my black mollies mated with a silver male on 6/10 and either her or the other female bred at the same time gave birth to 7 yellow fry on 7/10. At this point I removed all other fish to their own tank and divided the females in the same tank where they’ve been since...

That makes sense. Thanks a bunch

Black female molly X silver male had all orange fry?

Like should they be a certain size at 3 weeks to be considered healthy and then grow a certain amount to kinda be “on track” at for example 6 weeks?

Black female molly X silver male had all orange fry?

Gotcha. Maybe because mine never got that big they never really changed lol. Is there like a specific/ general size they’re supposed to grow to at certain times? I guess kinda like “milestones” would be a good way to put it..

Black female molly X silver male had all orange fry?

Oh wow. How old do you think they’d be when they change color if that’s what they’ll do?

Black female molly X silver male had all orange fry?

So at least one of my two pregnant black mollies dropped a few fry about a week ago (both still looking very square though) and the seven I’ve saved are in a separate tank. My question is though, both females were bred by the same silver male, and yet all seven fry are orange/ pale yellow and I...
