Hi all, I would be grateful for any thoughts. Have lost about 5 fish over past month. Fresh water tank, temp 27celsius. All water parameters seem ok. Ammonia, nitrates and nitrite all show zero/ minimal. Ph 7.4 I tried salt, and had no deaths for about 10 days, so thought it had cleared...

    What fish is this

Bought 2 new fish for my 292L freshwater tank. In the fish shop he called them 'albino shark ' but they look more like catfish with short whiskers, and nibble on the glass and driftwood edges the way Pleco's do. Would be grateful if anyone can help me identify what they are.

    Disease

Hi and thank you for the various replies. The tank was and is well cycled with minimal ammonia,!nitrates or nitrites. The fish seemed to stop dying during malachite green treatment but started dying again afterwards each time (I tried treating on 3 separate occasions). Presumably if slowed the...

Yet another casualty. Found! Another clown loach on the bottom. He was swimming a little odd, rather than upright, was 30degrees sideways yesterday and didn’t come feed yesterday with the others. His colours have faded after death but we’re ok yesterday.... was planning on taking shotgun...

Still feeling a bit paranoid. Noticed a bit of something dangling from one of the gourami. Is this a parasite or just a bit of poo!

Thank you again for all the comments. No further casualties so haven’t rushed into any medicine, since it looks like the red on the angel is just normal markings. I did run a test again today before I did my water change. Today was the first time since getting the tank that the nitrates looked...

? inflamed gills The small yellow Angelfish has the redness on one side, and was like that when we bought him 2 weeks ago. We figured it was just colouration, but with the death of a few fish since then, I started wondering about disease, and noticed the colouration on some of the other fish...
