They just eat whatever scraps they find laying around the tank. Pretty sure you need to make sure you get a peppermint shrimp collected from Florida to be sure it will eat the Aptasia.

I love it. No filtration other than my protein skimmer. My water has never been so perfect. It is never cloudy from sand...haha

I have a 29g. I have 2 clowns and a yellowtail damsel. Clean-up crew consist of. Hermits, turbos, and a fee other types of snails, peppermint shrimp to keep the aiptasia out, and 3 chitons. I have a blue maxima clam and several coral as well. Not a good pic, but that is my set-up.

This has been growing in my tank for about 6 months. It isn't growing anywhere else in the tank so I am guess it is safe to have. I am just curious as to what it is. Does anyone know? Thanks!

The freshwater will kill of most of the beneficial bacteria. The rock also will absorb the freshwater and release it back into the tank.
