Hi delapool yeah cardinals. The water parameters are as they should be and are constant. He is still schooling eating and as far as I can tell swimming as normal. None of the other fish have any sign of stress or disease what so ever.

Hi guys I was just wondering if this is neon tetra disease? Only one of my tetras are showing these symptoms and I initially thought it was ich as there were three or four white bits on his body but I now noticed the dark patches and his bloated and seems a bit out of shape? Ideas please.

My new dwarfs phil and grant. They were drip acclimated for an hour and a half to two hours and added to the tank yesterday morning. They seem to have settled in great.
It's 120ltrs juwel, don't know what model as i bought it second hand, but I'm presuming its an 800. It's my first big tank so I have nothing to compare it too but I can't fault it so far. It's 100cm X 30 x 40 and has a Juwel bio flow "standard" and a bio flow "super" filter in it.
Thanks canary bird, I must correct myself I actually set the tank up nearing the end of August and it only took just over two weeks to cycle which I was delighted with as the smaller 23ltr tank is still cycling about six weeks after setting it up.
Well an update on my juwel Rekord tank. It's cycled as the water parameters are good for a week now. I started with a fishless cycle by just using fish food etc and some established filter material. I set the tank up at beginning of august and after a few days ended up putting four minnows in...
The advice I got on this forum and other sites was, go to your local fish store see what fish you like the look of and then research all you can on them to see if they are compatible with the size tank you have and also how hardy/easy they are for beginners to care for. Have you a heater and filter?
As I said I'm no expert I'm new to this whole thing too so don't take my word as fact. I had minnows in with the shrimp and they hid the whole time. I took minnows out and the shrimp are all over the tank now. I think they just see them as predators.
I think it's molt too but I'm no expert. I found similar in my RCS tank and all of mine are accounted for (i think) they seem to eat the shed skin from what I've seen.
