need help removing drilled intake part?

It looks to me like the threaded part of the pipe passes through the hole in the tank from the inside and is sealed and held in place by the large nut and a thin layer of white mastic. If that is the case, then what you need to do is hold the pipe still to stop it spinning (you may need...

Snails, snails and more snails HELP

+1 for the lettuce trick... It worked a treat for me :) ok so I didn't have a huge infestation, just a few that sneaked in from a "snail free plants" pet shop. I think they meant, " free snails with our plants!" You may need to do it a couple or more times depending on how bad the problem is...

    Betta confusion

Betta Splendens is the scientific name for the Siamese fighting fish. The scientific name is used to avoid ambiguity which can arise when living things are referred to by their common names. Some fish will have different common names, but only one scientific name. Some common names may refer to...

    Mumma's 8g riparium

The tank's looking great so far! As for the rocks, they look like a good home for some moss and maybe a small java fern or two? Keep the pics coming. When I have the time, space and money a riparium is definitely on "the list" :)

A good story and a great reminder that no matter how much we think we are in control of our tanks, mother nature will always have her say! Thanks for sharing :)

Too many fish deaths in a month old aquarium..

It could just be stress from the change of scenery, hopefully they'll get over it soon. Did you remember to dose the 37 with prime? Keep up the testing and do a 50% change when ammonia or nitrite go over 0.25 :)

Too many fish deaths in a month old aquarium..

To avoid more fish deaths / damage, you need to get your ammonia a lot lower ASAP and ideally below 0.25 If your ammonia is now at 4.0 then a 50% water change will take it down to 2.0 and a second 50% change wold take it to 1.0 So, for starters, you really NEED to do 2 50% or higher water...

    Feeding a plec (l200) veg ?

I tried my fish with blanched carrot once. Yes, only once but only because I forgot to do it again lol but thanks for reminding me! I cut the carrot into 6" long sections which I then quartered lengthways (so still 6" long) and blanched it by submerging the pieces in a mug of boiling water for...
