What does one do with guppy fry when your guppies start mass producing?

Have a planted, well stocked 55 gal aquarium that has been going for a few months now. The current light is a 36" Marineland that I am wanting to replace soon as it's not lighting up enough of the tank. I did my weekly test this morning prior to a water change and came up with 0 on the Nitrates...

They do look very similar. A very pretty fish in its own right.

The advice I received here that worked well is to continue to daily water changes with high nitrite and nitrate readings. Dose the ammonia back after every change.

Do a large water change and keep adding ammonia until the nitrites start disappearing.

Is it sitting on chairs? Those legs don't look strong enough to support that kind of weight for long.

I would trust the liquid test kits before I would a disk hanging in the tank. ymmv

Oops. Guess the girl at the LFS can't count. It's 8 cherry barb. Lol

Went with 7 cherry barb, 7 glow light, & 4 Skunk cory. Nobody of the 4 LFS I went to in 2 cities had the other cories or a breeding pair of gourami.

It is a blend of old(read used) flourite black sand and red rock and a bag or two of new Nat Geo black and white sand.

My pH out of the tap is 8.2-8.4. I just tested all 4 parameters at 10am this morning after dosing back to 4ppm at 6pm last evening. Results are: pH - 8.0 steady from the last time I checked it on May 29th ammonia - 0 nitrite - 0 nitrate -80 Planning on a 50-75% water change this afternoon...

Thank you. I added back to 4ppm earlier today. I think I'm going shopping tomorrow. Never having done a fishless I've never known exactly how many or when to add fish.

Oh, I'm having no doubts of that. She wants glo danio so I want to make sure it's 100% ready for a full on bio load before making the purchase

This aquarium is being painstakingly slow. It's holding 0 nitrites, but it's only reduced ammonia by 1/2 every 24 hours.
