    Massive bristleworm

I will probably wind up pulling the rock and giving it a fw dip. I have a nice size hammer attached to it though, so I will have to find a way to get it off. I'm pretty sure the dip or boiling will annihilate the bacteria on the rock, so it will have to be seeded again. Thanks.

    Massive bristleworm

Ok, I have been keeping saltwater aquaria for some time now, but this is a first. I keep a 3 gallon pico reef in my kitchen, and I just got up to get some water. When I turned the light on, I swear I thought I was hallucinating. There was what looked like a bristleworm that was sticking out of a...

    Lighting for 20g planted

Hi all! I have been doing reefs the past few years, but I have just been givin a fw tank to fool around with. I need suggestions for lighting. I am leaning towards t5's right now. I do not want to be restricted when it comes to plant selection, so I will welcome coments.

    Live rock

30 lbs does not take up as much space as you probably think. I have about 70lbs in my 30 with plenty of open space for fish. I would do at least 30 for a reef.

    Planning A 10g Saltwater Tank

I agree with most of what nu-nu says. Clownfish will be fine for this tank. I would recommend them as one of the first to go in there, as long as you let it cycle and do the 10+ pounds of live rock. I have kept a clownfish and a yellow watchman/ pistol shrimp pair in a 3 gal for 7 months now and...

    Planning A 10g Saltwater Tank

Main things you need to know for a small reef: 1: don't skimp on live rock. 10 lbs minimum 2: live sand. Close to 10 lbs 3: water: try and get pre mixed from your lfs ( local fish store) mixing water for the first time could be difficult, require more gadgets, and contain impurities from your...

    Gobies and shrimp

Don't get a sand sifting goby. They will displace too much sand in a 10. Get a shrimp goby pair. I have had a pair in a 3 gal for 7 months now and they are doing great.
