This is a bit of a fun thread .MTS Multiple Tank Syndrome
Have come out of aquarium Hiatus after 30 years.
Now find myself with a 30 gallon musk turtle tank , A 50 gallon yellow eared slider tank a ten gallon Betta tank ,55 gallon not sure what to put in it tank thinking Cichlid ,and a 10...
You don't give specs for your pond size depth etc
goldfish ,Shu bumkin .(Sturgeon if you have a bigger pond), And some carp species can be brought as well so you are not limited to just goldfish but only buy fish within your parameters (google is your friend )
good luck and wishing you a...
Going to cut to the chase would a 55 uk gallon /Around about 66 US gallons be ok for an African cichlid set up
Have done community tanks in past albeit 30 years ago
but would love to have a crack at cichlids ,As they are beautiful fish
Water parameters Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0.25 ppm PH 7.4
Hi i know it is not something most people think of they are fish right cant harm anything
truth known they can be very dangerous to their own species .Guessing you don't have a spare tank , But you need to get one even if it is a little 10 gallon. Move the bullies out. because as sure as the sun...
Hi your gourami's have only just arrived they may need a little time to settle so at only 24 hours i would not worry to much. just keep eye on them if they not eating after 3/4 days then it may signal a problem.
I would suggest it may be Dropsy / Bloat search around on google should get some answers on how to treat it ,It is not something i have dealt with just know it is quite common usually caused by poor water conditions, overfeeding or stress
Wishing you and your fishy friend al the best
General rule of thumb in a tank with a good filter and good water parameters 1 inch of fish per gallon, Note remember to get online and find the rough adult size of the fish you wish to purchase before purchasing
if you got algae eaters in tank you should be supplementing them with algae wafers or algae tablet food if you doing this snails are not going to make a whole lot of difference tho would keep numbers down during maintenance
Still treading my way with plants as i'm good at killing them ,But fish stocking as a rule of thumb 1 inch per gallon so you need to know the adult size of the fish before you buy if you have a decent filtration system you may get a couple more in but that is rule of thumb. you mention Rams...
hi all just finished Cycling my 55 gallon tank (Uk) Gallons =around 66 US Gallons )
Ran the whole Cycle using test strips everything coming up ok. Ran APi master test kit pretty much confirmed the strips but in numbers ) 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite
10ppm Nitrate. PH however is high at 7.8 and confirmed...
You have actually answered your own question. Bigger tank i suspect with the addition of new fish they haven't got room to establish their own territory thus have become aggressive
Goldfish are quite hardy little fellas and will survive a lot. I feel your 1st priority here is to get the ammonia levels down with small frequent water changes. once you have stabilized the tank i would seriously look at a bigger tank (big as you can afford ) with a half decent filtration...
Working on the principle 1 gallon per inch of fish i would say your tank is to small for danios given that they grow to around 2.5 inches adult size that would allow you 2 fish. Danios are schooling fish so having just 2 in the tank is likely to stress them out due to lack of numbers and lead...
if you running a fish less cycle do not change your water until you see high nitrates. Zero ammonia zero nitrites, nitrates present you are cycled. When the nitrates go up that's when you change the water until then leave it alone btw don't add anything other than an ammonia source to cycle if...
