Going to cut to the chase would a 55 uk gallon /Around about 66 US gallons be ok for an African cichlid set up

Have done community tanks in past albeit 30 years ago

but would love to have a crack at cichlids ,As they are beautiful fish

Water parameters Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0.25 ppm PH 7.4
 
Yes, for sure. Figure one 6" fish for about every 3 gallons for heavily stocked. Avoid females. And avoid haps, as some get really big. I'd pick either peacocks or mbuna. Mbuna are more aggressive but smaller and tough. Peacocks have more color. They don't all mix well together. You'll just have to research the ones your interested in
